Why this derby name and number?

I'm a geek!  I love table top role-playing games so I took my name from one of the more infamous ones: Dungeons & Dragons.  The number d20 stands for '20-sided dice or die' used in D&D and other RPGs.

How did you get into derby?

I saw images and video clips online through friends out of state and I thought, "Ladies on skates hitting each other?  What's not to like?" so I kept whining to my neighbor/friend (now my derby wife) about how I wish we had a team in the area.  Another friend of mine knew Krush Groove and hooked me up with her on Myspace just as she was starting the league!  I talked Robyn into joining with me and we've been in love ever since!  Um, with derby that is.

Drink of choice: Whiskey and coke!  My dear friend Charlot introduced me to Rebel Yell whiskey and now I'm a fan.

Non-derby hobbies: Hobby gaming, card playing, scooter riding, coin machine toy collecting, skee-ball, and internet trollin'.

Favorite song to skate to: The Beatles' Helter Skelter.  Original or covered by Dana Fuchs :D  Also, this amazing theme song "Dawn Gin Master" by Guidobaldoni.  I love it!

What do your family and friends think of derby? I think my friends expected it.  My mom brought my sisters to our first public scrimmage and told me at half time to start throwing punches 'cause the crowds love it.  I like that my family supports me being publicly violent... I mean, they support me keeping active and staying fit - that's what I meant!

Actually my parents are really into the fact we are involved in community and charity work!  They love that we share our proceeds with those who need it!
